This is a little bit of craziness....

Decided to redo Games WOD 11.1 and ended up getting one more snatch.. Final score of 307 (6 rounds, 30 DU, 7 snatches) ONE MORE REP than last time... Really painful, but it proved to me that I'm not going to magically figure out a WOD and be able to do significantly better the second time within a week unless something catastrophic happened the first time (fell, dropped bar on self, etc)

About 10 minutes after WOD 11.1, we decided to do a 30 minute, as many muscle ups as possible, rest as needed WOD... I ended up getting to 85 at around 28 minutes... so, I decided to see how long it would take to get 100! My hands are tore up, but it was worth it!

Saturday, I spent the morning judging our 1st WOD of the CrossFit Open Sectionals. Tons of fun! Otherwise, rested.

Two PRs! 225 Overhead Squat and 255 Front Squat! Back squats were brutal after those..

3.17.2011--- Did the first 'CrossFit Open' WOD after work...

10min AMRAP of:
30 DUs
15 Power Snatch (75#)

Every rep counts---> 6 rounds, 30 DUs, 6 Power Snatches..

not bad, looking like 19th in our region so far.. might do it again on Sunday and see if I can improve it. Surprisingly, I had two unbroken sets of DUs! Thats craziness!!

I dropped 56 seconds off my 'Nancy' time this morning!!

from a 13:14 to a 12:20!! My run is definitely getting stronger and I actually did all the OHS unbroken (didn't set the bar down.. continuous reps, not really)

Deads were sets of 5, tried to keep perfect form.

I figured out how to get a HUGE kip in my muscle ups and was able to string 4s between each set of DLs. I need to try the OMEM again with the new form and see what happens...

Did a few crazy things, Wednesday (3.9.2011) did a wod in the hotel gym. ear buds FTW..

WOD was....

4 rounds for time of:
20x50# 1-Arm Dumbell Snatches
30x50# 1-Arm Push Press
30x50# Goblet Squats

Time: 19:22

Today---->

Did Snatch Balances instead of KB swings.. just the bar. I've never done SB before, so it was a good day to stretch the coordination. Also, I found out that 150 SBs will UTTERLY DESTROY your shoulders! "just the bar" was perfectly ok with me. I am SO glad I didn't add weight. I'd still be in the box.

Friday Afternoon, Second WOD... 20# Med Ball..



Today (Saturday), I took the morning off and warmed up, stretched and then did the mainsite WOD..

Shoulder Press 3-3-3-3-3-3-3

I did a few warm up sets with 65, 75 and 95.. then did 125-125-125-125-125-125-125.. the last few sets felt much better! I'm still getting my form down on the strict press - learning to build power without my legs helping.. tough, but its getting better.

Time was 22 something, I forgot to take a picture of the board!! Everything went really well except the pullups, my arms were cashed from Monday's WOD.. I was doing 3's and 2's towards the last 20-30 pullups.. part of the fun though, learning to deal with the unexpected.

Followed by 350 DUs... DUs were the killer for me in this WOD, all the Bear Complex unbroken and solid. I was able to keep my footing on every rep for once! Felt great. DUS were in 1s, 3s, 5s, 10s.. but mostly 3s and 5s. Amy suggested to slow my hands down when I was doing my 350 DUs post WOD and it really helped!! I think I try and speed up too much during the WODs and it actually slows me down.. I'm going to try and remember to stop, take a deep breath and GO SLOW.
